About Nube
With more than a decade of experience, we have developed and implemented the Nube Method, an approach based on play, experimentation and artistic thinking, which uses art as a tool for meaningful and contextual learning. This method, adaptable and replicable in diverse contexts, enhances key social-emotional skills such as critical thinking, curiosity and collaboration, in addition to strengthening self-esteem, resilience and empathy.

History
In 2012, Nube Lab began teaching an annual cycle of Visual Arts classes to 5th grade students. Progressively we incorporated various pedagogical resources and programs, such as: pedagogical visits, evaluations and training for teachers of art and other subjects, thus involving the entire educational community. At the same time, we strengthen ties with the families of our students through workshops, talks, mediations, exhibitions and interventions both in our workshop and in community, public and private institutions. In addition to fostering ties with artists through artistic residency programs and various continuing education experiences.
2012 Nube studio
The first Taller Nube is created in the Parque Padre Hurtado in association with the Corporación de Educación de Las Condes. It is a temporary infrastructure where extracurricular activities are organized for the schools of the commune.
2014 Nube school
The “Nube Escuela” program is born. A curricular program for 5th and 6th grade that takes place inside the Juan Pablo II School. In parallel, the extracurricular work in the park continues, considering both ways of working.
2015 Nube as a foundation
Nube is constituted as a Foundation. With the help of the Municipality of Las Condes, in the same park, the facilities of what would be our house-workshop until today were built. The new schools that begin to implement the Nube Escuela curricular program are welcomed there.
2016 Open Nube
The pilot program Nube abierta (Open Nube), the predecessor of Nube va, is carried out, which allows us to bring the Nube experience to families and communities. We publish our first publication “Bitácora 1”, with Hueders publishing house.
2017 The Nube Method
With the support of the Las Condes Education Corporation, we researched, systematized and evaluated the impact of the program over the years, resulting in the book “The Cloud Method: contemporary art + education” (published in 2019).
2019 Nube Lab
We renewed the way we look at our work, transforming ourselves into Nube Lab. We realized that the place we occupy, between contemporary art and education, is similar to a laboratory where transformations take place that inspire us and change our way of seeing the world.
2020 Cloud at home
The COVID 19 pandemic led us to adapt programs and projects to give continuity to the artistic-educational processes of children and young people in their homes.
2021 International recognition
We were selected by the Finnish organization HundrED as one of the 15 educational initiatives recognized for innovation, leadership and impact in the field within Latin America and the Caribbean, sharing this place with four other Chilean projects. In addition, we were awarded the Fondart Nacional, Fomento a la Economía Creativa line, modality Support Equipment for Digital Contents which, together with donations, allowed us to create “Oye, ¿Vamos al taller?, a TV program for children’s audiences, broadcast since August by the NTV cultural channel, with the participation of renowned national artists.
2022 Escuelanube.org and open studio
Launch of Escuelanube.org, which includes a wide range of activities that Nube has developed over the years. The online platform is aimed at students and teachers, facilitating access to educational content that links the arts with the national curriculum and social-emotional skills. In addition, we fulfilled one of the foundation’s historical aspirations: to open the Nube Workshop so that families could participate in artistic activities on Saturday mornings. We received 261 children and their families free of charge in this first year of implementation. This same year, the HundrED Global Collection selected us as one of the 100 educational innovations with the greatest impact in the world and we formed an alliance with the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development).
