The Nube’s Method

The Nube Method is a learning process based on play, experimentation, and artistic thinking that promotes creativity in students and teachers. We created a method that helps the educational community to face everyday challenges through meaningful experiences and cognitive, sensitive, and procedural competencies. What we do is to investigate the creative processes that occur in the artists’ workshops and identify the knowledge that is generated there in five dimensions: doings, knowledge, attitudes, reflection and projection, and sensitive exploration, which we then translate into learning outcomes for each of the activities we design.

The Nube's Method: Contemporary Art + Education" (2019). Bilingual publication, 168 pages.

● The pedagogical design

A relevant aspect of the Nube Method is the promotion of skills in technical dimensions (knowledge and skills), socioemotional (attitudes), creative thinking (sensitive exploration) and critical thinking (reflection and projection). Thus, through the teaching, learning and evaluation of these 5 dimensions, we seek to respond to the demands of the 21st century.

Technical skills (content and procedures) have been the most commonly taught and assessed in education, leaving aside other skills necessary for thinking in a comprehensive education (Vincent-Lancrin et al., 2019), such as creativity, socioemotional skills and critical and reflective thinking. At Nube we defend the relevance of a multidimensionality in teaching and evaluation.

● What is The Nube Method used for?

Using the Cloud method, students and teachers will have learned to:
Procedural: Experiencing through the senses different media and results. / Cognitive:
Creative and simple problem solving. / Sensitive: Read and interpret signs. Enjoyment in the performance of tasks. / Socioemotional: Exercise curiosity and imagination as a way of knowing. To feel capable and work autonomously. Collaborate with others in a common project.

●  Nube’s hallmark

All the educational resources we develop are an extension of the principles of Nube’s Method. Sello Nube is a voluntary system initiated in 2022 to evaluate the processes and measure the impact of our programs on those who choose to work with us.
By certifying our editorial products, artistic-educational activities, programs, and projects as well as educational establishments that work under the principles of our methodology, we seek to ensure the fulfillment of our mission by promoting creativity.

Some of the minimum standards we aim to achieve are:

▶ Integral pedagogic design

We seek to promote joyful and meaningful educational experiences, which is why we design activities that integrate interdisciplinary, creativity, and social-emotional skills, following the MINEDUC curricular guidelines.

• 184 interdisciplinary art activities.
• 63 activities that promote social-emotional skills.

▶ Sustainability

To promote the resolution of everyday issues, we use tools provided by each context considering the participant’s experiences by utilizing simple, inexpensive, and easily accessible materials to give them a new life.

Out of all the Nube activities carried out in 2023:
• 63,89% used recycled materials (that come from 1 previous use).
• 79,17% used recyclable materials (new that can be recycled).
• 63,89% used unconventional materials (domestic or industrial materials that cannot be recycled).

▶ Contemporary art

We are inspired by art and the dynamics inside artists’ workshops to promote experimentation, creative thinking, and sensitive connections in relation to context.

• 273 projects carried out
• 18.709 people have participated

▶ New knowledge

We do research to update and enrich our programs as well as share our findings to reach as many people as possible.

• 1 Nube Method test
• 1 art evaluation rubric
• 10 instruments designed
